One rate per segment

$0.0032 for each segment of an outbound text, the same on every US and Canadian network. A text of up to 160 plain characters is one segment.

Carrier fees at cost

Each mobile carrier charges a fee per segment to deliver a business text. We pass it through at cost, with no markup, and show it as its own line on every message.

Registration filed for you

We file your A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration for you, and the console shows each number's status while carriers review it. Registry fees are billed separately from the per-segment rate.

Pay for what is accepted

You are billed when the carrier accepts a message. Sends we block, sends that fail before reaching a carrier, and verification codes that are never confirmed cost nothing.

Questions

How am I billed?

Prepaid. You buy credits with a card, from $5, and usage draws your balance down. Credits do not expire while your account is open, and you can turn on auto-recharge so the balance tops itself up. There is no platform fee and no commitment; a month with no traffic costs nothing. Each month you get a statement that itemises usage.

Do failed messages cost anything?

No. Credits are drawn when the carrier accepts the message. If the carrier rejects it, the credit is returned to your balance, and so is the carrier fee.

What happens when I hit the free limit?

Sends return a 429 with a clear message until the next day or month. Nothing breaks and nothing is charged; add credits to lift every cap. Sandbox keeps working regardless.

Why do I have to verify a recipient on the free tier?

It is the same idea as verifying a domain before you can send email anywhere: it keeps the free tier from becoming a spam relay. Verify your own phone in the console and text it as much as your allowance allows. To text anyone else, add credits and register your business: once the carriers approve your registration, your number can text anyone who opted in.

Does the sandbox count against anything?

Never. Test keys are unlimited and free forever: every endpoint, no verification, no metering. Build the whole integration before you spend a cent.

What about A2P 10DLC registration?

We file it for you. The registration fees themselves (brand, campaign and vetting) are not part of the per-segment rate: they are billed on their own invoice, as Terms §4.3 sets out; toll-free verification has no fee. Carriers usually review in 3–7 business days, and you can text your own verified numbers the same day while they do. Live access is reviewed by a human because we carry the compliance responsibility for that traffic.

Do inbound messages cost anything?

Not today. Replies and other inbound texts are free. The listed inbound rate ($0.004 a message) applies only after we announce it.

When are phone numbers charged?

When you buy a number ($0.95), then every month after on the same day. Not prorated.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes. Once you are past a few hundred thousand messages a month, talk to us and we will quote committed rates.
