Teams

One account, many users. The owner and admins manage the account; members work the inbox.

Roles

RoleCan
adminEverything: keys, billing, webhooks, numbers, team, plus all member abilities.
memberInbox, contacts, broadcasts, templates, messaging.
viewerRead-only: sees everything a member sees (inbox, messages, contacts, deliverability, usage, spend), changes nothing.

Admin-only routes return 403 to members and viewers; any change a viewer attempts returns 403. Admins change roles from Console → Team, and every invite, role change, and removal is recorded in the audit log.

Invites

Console → Settings → Team → enter an email, pick a role, and select Invite. We email the person a link; it is single-use, expires after 7 days, and only the invited address can accept it. They sign in (Google, GitHub, or email) with that address and land on your team. An account that already belongs to another team must use a different sign-in.

Pending invitations are listed with the members. From the … menu an admin can resend the email, copy the link, or revoke the invitation.

Managing members

From the … menu next to a member, an admin can change their role or remove them. Anyone except the owner can leave the team from the same menu next to their own name.

Signatures

Each user can set a signature (Console → Team → your profile); it is appended to messages they compose in the console.

Closing your account

Only the account owner can close the account: Console → Settings → Close account, then type the account name to confirm. You can also ask us to close it by emailing support@joinsimplesms.com.

Closing takes effect at once:

  • Nothing more is sent. Every API key is revoked, and any request made with one, test or live, returns 403 account_closed.
  • Webhook endpoints are turned off; recurring schedules and automations are paused; scheduled messages and broadcasts that have not gone out are canceled.
  • The account's phone numbers are released. A released number goes back to the carrier and may later be given to someone else, so port out any number you want to keep before you close.
  • Its registrations end: we file nothing more for them and ask the carriers to deactivate them.
  • Fees accrued up to closing appear on a final statement. Unused purchased credits are not refunded (Terms §4.5).

For 30 days the account's people can still sign in and read and export everything (the console is read-only), and a mistaken closure can be reversed by emailing us. After that we delete the account's data, always within 90 days of closing: messages, contacts, logs, the audit log, settings and every user's sign-in. Registration details and filed copies are kept for 1 year, opt-out and consent records for at least 4 years after the last message, and billing records for 7 years, as Data Retention says.
